No sympathy at all. My wife wears her jewelry through security at that very same airport and it doesnt set anything off. If you know youre going through security and you know theres a chance whatever youre wearing might set something off, its on YOU...not TSA to make sure that theres not an issue. If it were up to me, thered be MUCH more security then there is right now....NOT less....

I guess nipple rings are made of a different metal than earrings? My earrings never go off in metal detectors, and I've never been asked to remove them. I don't know why she would have to if the machine didn't beep.

i'd say shes pretty immature i mean really. All metal is going to go off under the detecter, and it will ALL be detected.

TSA was out of line and it wouldn't be the first time, I swear I think they make it up as they go along in most of the airports.

I hate those guys, they're not trained, they're not professional, and they can't actually detect any real weapons if you believe the reports of all the test items going through over and over. The whole agency needs to be tightened up and put on notice to act like they're supposed to. I fly all the time and one of them told me I could bring a gun on board because he thought my PI license was a federal badge! Idiot.

I don't think she really has a case, it was silly for them to ask, but with in their rights... I'd say she should start wearing bioplast nipple rings, it's healthier then metal for you and you don't have these issues.

But I really do think they did it as a form of sexual harassment. My bra goes off all the time and they never ask me to remove that, they simply run the wand over me, embossing sure, sue-able, I wouldn't think so.
