Comments are getting to me?

I am normally fairly unconcerned with comments on how big I am etc. But within the past few weeks, while in public, everyone says that I look like I am due any day. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I pray that I will NOT deliver any day! I know that we all hear comments every now and then but they are starting to really concern me. I have gained 25 pounds so far and I really feel like that is not a big deal. I am measuring fine, the baby is healthy, but I am SO tired of the comments. I am a small person (normally) and I have grown into this huge belly with a person attached. I think that I would be less concerned if I wasn't becoming more and more uncomfortable on a daily basis. Any suggestions as to how I should respond to the comments? Anyone else experiencing this?

i was also small, and so the belly looks way bigger on a smaller person than usual. ppl think omg shes gonna pop she has to be due any day. but really u arent. i got comments to- after so long ignore them. i would answer back with... ya hes probably gonna be a big baby... or " im not even due for another... weeks". or just go along with them. sometimes i would just laugh it off like ya ha ha.

Just ignore them though- comments are so quickly forgotten when you actually go into labor and then have your babie in your arms. you will laugh at them afterwards trust me.

o and 25 pounds is really NOT that much. you can expect to GAIN MORE weight if ur a smaller person during pregnancy to compensate. and u are completely under the avg weight gain for a normal person. so u are fine. ALSO- dont worry the weight really was not that hard for me to get off afterwards. its mostly swelling afterwards u will get freaked out like omg am i gonna have a belly bump forever.... but trust me mine left. give it time... my babies 4 months i weigh less now than i ever have... not true for all women but dont worry its possible.

just state you have a healthy little one on the way...theres nothing wrong with that...laugh at it...everything will go back to normal once the babies born...

Just say "I have a few more weeks to go but your right, this baby is growing fast" or something like that. I know it is hard to hear especially as you get bigger but don't worry about it. The baby sticks out sometimes and makes woman look bigger and further along, plus sometimes when they say "you look like you can go any day now" they are refering to how low the baby is. Woman who have been pregnant sometimes notice when a baby has dropped (which can happen a few weeks before delivery).

"Actually, I'm only 31 weeks along. I've gained less weight than most women at this point. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment." OK, that's the nasty response to someone you feel is being obnoxious. If the person seems nice, you can say pretty much the same thing with kinder words. That may stop them from commenting to the next pregnant lady!

I was showing VERY early in both of my pregnancies. People thought I was much farther along than I was. Many asked how many babies I had "in there." I was not overweight, but I had the big belly sticking way out for months. It bothered me, but I knew they were not being malicious. People who are not currently pregnant forget how hormonal and emotionally fragile you are while pregnant!

Get used to nosy people. When you have an infant, unless the baby is in a baby sling, people will just touch it without asking. They will ask how you are feeding the baby and whether or not you have sleep-trained the baby yet. It goes on and on and on. I think most people are either curious in a kind way, or are trying to strike up a conversation. I try to remember that people are not generally mean to strangers. Once you have a tantrum-throwing toddler, most people won't even look at you in the store :)

I can completely empathize with you, my gorgeous baby girl came out at 10 pounds 15 ounces!!! Nobody knew she was going to be so big, but I looked like I was having twins when I was pregnant with her. People constantly stared and made rude, degrading comments about my appearance, but just try and remember that your baby is the most important thing to you and obviously your bubba is doing great! Unfortunately most people in this world are rude, ignorant, judgemental pieces of you know what. Nothing you say to them is going to change their juvenile preconceived notions, although when I was having a particularly irritable day I was often found to tell a few idiots where to go and how to get there, this seemed to help, if only for the moment! The comfort thing is truly unbearable, my partner had to help me whenever I wanted to sit/stand/lie down or I would be in excruciating agony for the last two months of my pregnancy, but hey it's all worth it in the end.

Three deep breaths.........................

Get used to the comments. No insult is intended. Smile and nod.

Remember: EVERYBODY feels they have a right to pry into the business of a pregnant woman. It is how We express our nurturing, and Our concern for your health. It is none of Our beeswax, but We are powerless to refrain from butting in. Take it all in stride.

A pregnant woman is a source of endless fascination.

Just wait till the baby is teething. You thought you had unsolicited advice now..............

I heard it all, are you having twins, you look like your due any day( I was hearing this at 7 months), you look miserable. I was huge!! I'm not one of those lucky ladies who leave the hospital looking like they never had a baby. Just smile and say I still have this many weeks left.

When people would talkabout my belly I'd tellthem that I wasn't pregnant and you should see the shocked look on their faces.... it was great

just ignore that...think only about you and the baby..

congrates and all the best
